Story:

Text provided by the architects:

The project is built on a beautiful site with a lot of trees. It’s in the region near the Pacific Ocean and has a warm climate. The client has requested the house with a court. They hoped to enjoy outdoor life and feel nature around the villa while protecting privacy.

At first, we surveyed the position and size of the important trees on the site. We decided placement very carefully on the basis of the survey. The courtyard is planned wider than the living space. The courtyard is surrounded by bent walls has creating openness and blur boundaries between indoors and outdoors. The residents enjoy their time in the courtyard as if they are in internal space. The one big roof that is like origami creates some comfortable places inside.
