Story:

Designing a villa is a challenging task. It is needless to say that the most famous architects are known for their villas to build something beyond a house. The villa is defined as a temporary residence for us that may last. Here, we did not intend to build a high-quality building and the only place suitable for a good life without additionals and play manifesto.

Now it would be a more complicated task to design a villa when it comes to the sister, her friend, and their husbands; therefore, we set the principle for "Mehrad and Tekin" due to spending their childhood there.

Numerous demands were exchanged and what they needed was, one wanted a watchtower overlooking dreamy landscapes. The other wanted a playful attic; one wanted a large terrace; the other wanted a yard for games and basketball; one wanted an independent, transparent family room with greenery all around. We all wanted simplicity to be the main theme of the project.

They have bought two plots of land with a strange geometry in three dimensions next to each other on the outskirts of Lahijan, in an area called Kateshal, which has pristine and lush nature and dreamlike areas. There were no trees, which came to light that land sellers sold the plots with trees for maximum profit and after the preliminary agreement plowed the land from the root so much that one can play football in it, but there is no way back; of course the steep slope of the ground did not allow it to play. The northern part of the land was at the bottom, which still had old tea garden remnants. The site's geometry, the requested program, the tendency to simplicity, and providing a maximum opening to the surrounding green valleys created this product; the diagrams tell the rest of the story.

P.S: I tried to look up the meaning of Kateshal; there are different meanings for kate and shal. Kat or kate in ancient Persian means village. In the local dialect, shal is called a kind of wild cat native to the surrounding area. Also, a forest tree such as elm shal, olive shal, fig shal and also means "jackal" in the dialects of the same area. Of these, I think the meaning is closer to the tree and the forest due to the surrounding nature; a forest village or a village full of trees.
